"Local Giving. Local Impact." is our way of saying that the donation you make to the North Shore United Way stays here to help your neighbors on the North Shore.
We pool your donation with others and we direct the funds to programs that service North Shore communities. This year, we are helping more than 21,000 residents with your donation. It stays here.
Even if you live here but work in Boston or New Hampshire, your donation can be directed to the North Shore United Way by designating us as your recipient on your employee campaign card. It stays here.
How have we helped? By funding programs to:
- give families on Cape Ann a choice in the selections they make at the food pantry
- teach adolescents in Manchester the skills to resist peer pressure to experiment with marijuana
- hire a staff person in Beverly to seek out grants to make affordable housing a reality
- provide in-home care for HIV/AIDS patients who are too sick to go out
- give single parents an affordable child care option so they can keep their jobs
